Visit Moncton, New Brunswick Maritime Travel Canada
Canada has four maritime provinces on the east coast, New Brunswick, PEI, Nova Scotia and Newfoundland which have a lot to offer the traveller no matter the age.
I’ve known a few people that have tried seeing the maritime province on just one two week vacation and they admitted later it was way too much to see in that short period of time. I would suggest you visit one province at a time unless you have a month or so for the trip.
So let’s just start with a trip to Moncton, New Brunswick this time around.
Why Moncton you might ask, well Moncton is close to my heart and was my first stop in New Brunswick.I picked Moncton, NB because it was actually the first stop for me here in the Maritimes and holds some great memories for me.

I took VIA Rail from Toronto, Ontario to Moncton, New Brunswick on my first two trips, once in the middle of winter and the other during the summer.
Both trips left me with a very stiff neck. I love scenery and it was picture postcard scenery most of the trip so I was staring out the window for way too long.
A Spectacular Light Show From Mother Nature
We passed through a very large flat marsh at some point during the night while a thunder storm was happening. There were lightening bolts hitting everywhere, as many as 5 and 6 at the same time. Thanks Mother Nature, it was a beautiful site.
Those are memories that never get old.
Magnetic Hill Moncton, New Brunswick, You Gotta See It For Yourself
Magnetic Hill Moncton, was so cool. Have you ever seen a car roll up hill from a complete stop, all by its self? Well I have, now, and it’s a very strange and fun thing to see.
When we arrived the first site I saw was a basketball rolling up the road. I just figured some one had tossed it up the hill but then I saw a beach ball go by me. I was going down hill and it wasn’t. Then I saw a bus rolling. The driver had his door open, his arms up in the air and his feet sticking out so you could see he wasn’t using the gas, so funny.

The Rising Tide That’s Moncton’s Bore Park
Moncton’s Petitcodiac river is affected by the rising and falling tides of Fundy Bay, the highest tides in the world, twice a day.
At low tide the Petitcodiac River seems to almost empty for about 30 miles but once the tide turns and starts back up the river it pushes a wave that gets to about 2 feet (60 cm) back up the river. And in about an hour the river depth can increase to about 25 feet (7.5 metres) deep.
You can watch it from Moncton’s Bore Park but check to see what time the tide will be coming into Moncton on that day. Phone: (506) 853-3590 or Toll Free: 1-800-363-4558
