For many people a safari holiday is the ultimate trip of a lifetime; a dream holiday with the chance to witness some of natures’ most incredible creatures within their natural surroundings. Safari is the Swahili word for ‘journey’ and choosing your own safari journey will come down to what you would most like to experience for your journey of a lifetime.

The Masai Mara National Reserve located in Kenya is the perfect safari destination for anyone who loves the big cats. Many documentaries about these magnificent creatures have been filmed here, as it is the perfect place to witness them in their natural surroundings. You can expect to see lions, leopards and cheetahs prowling around along with zebras, giraffes, wildebeest and elephants to name just some of the other animals that live in this area. The reserve has the Mara River running through it so it’s also possible to see hippos and crocodiles here as well. The annual migration, known as the Great Migration, from the Serengeti of zebras, wildebeest and gazelles occurs here every year from July to October and this is considered to be the best time to visit the reserve.

If you like to walk on the wild side then The Zambezi Valley in the Zambia makes for a great destination for the more daring traveler. The valley is vast and unspoiled and the Zambezi River flows through the area with crocodiles and hippos lurking. The area is very wild with only a few camps and guide companies working the area. You can choose from specialist safaris in this area such as bird or fish safaris or you can choose a combination safari. There are also canoeing safaris or walking safaris available in this area.

The Serengeti National Park in Tanzania is home to an enormous amount of wildlife and is the perfect destination for a traditional safari holiday. The area’s grasslands make this the perfect place for spotting all kinds of animals such as wildebeest, zebras, gazelles and of course the incredible big cats. The Park is enormous and divided into three areas – the name Serengeti means ‘endless plains’ in the Maasai language.

The Kruger National Park in South Africa is one of the oldest and largest wildlife parks in Africa. It makes for the perfect traditional safari holiday, as you will find all the expected safari animals living in this area. You can expect to see lions, leopards, rhinos, elephants and buffalos to name just some. The park runs along the border of Mozambique and Zimbabwe and is also home to the Crocodile River, which as the name suggests is home to these dangerous but beautiful creatures.

Now Try – Safari In Africa

Turkey is one of the most marvelous countries to visit on holiday. Located on the border of the continents of Europe and Asia, this amazing Eurasian locale offers everything you need from a getaway vacation. In this article we will talk about some of the fantastic places to visit and the stunning sights to see during your upcoming stay.

A proper holiday begins with a great hotel, and in this regard Turkey certainly delivers. In Turkey you’ll find a variety of hotel options for whatever it is you’re looking for, including hotels which offer all-inclusive packages. One such hotel is the Barut Hotel Lara Spa, located conveniently on the Turkish Mediterranean coast. Besides the world class dining and shopping in the area, there are plenty of things to do at the hotel itself. Spend your day lounging beside one of the two crystal blue swimming pools or make your way to the private beach area to bask in the Mediterranean sun. If action is more your game, take advantage of the two health club facilities and the pool table located right on the premises. At night, the Barut Hotel Lara Spa features wonderful dining, cocktail service and a top-notch nightclub for partying the night away.

Once you’ve enjoyed all your hotel has to offer, perhaps you’d like to visit some of the amazing sights located just a touch off the beaten path. The ruins of Aperlae, for example, located about 1 kilometer west of the Kekova Gulf, features ruins dating all the way back to the 5th century. Now a popular tourist spot, Aperlae offers dining, cocktails and shopping just miles away, allowing you to sit back and relax after trekking through these ancient wonders.

Once you’ve finished a full day of sightseeing, it’s time to experience the wonderful food and nightlife this country has to offer. In Turkey there are thousands of restaurants for whatever you’re in the mood for, including European and Asian delicacies fit for a king. You’ll also find tiny, out of the way pubs for relaxing with friends, and raucous nightclubs featuring both Turkish and alternate styles of music. When the sun goes down in Turkey, the party is just beginning.

Don’t you deserve the very best for your vacation this year? There are so many reasons to holiday in Turkey that it’s impossible to list them all. Landmarks, all-inclusive hotels and fabulous nightlife don’t begin to tell the whole story about the variety of activities Turkey has to offer. One thing’s for sure though: Once you visit this beautiful land, you may never want to go back.

Now Try – Cheap Holidays To Turkey

Tunisia, in northeastern Africa is a beautiful country to visit: a country of spices and flowers, ancient history, friendliness, wonderful hotels, restaurants and first class airports.

Tunisia has a mild and scenic coastline and a perfect climate. The Mediterranean makes up its northern, and part of its eastern border. Libya is also to the east and south, and Algeria is to the west. In the over 3000 years of its existence, this country has seen many civilizations pass through and leave their marks: the Phoenicians, Romans, Vandals, Byzantines, Turks, Spanish and French. Today’s Tunisian culture is a mosaic of all of these cultures that have gone before.

Tunisia’s long and colorful history is preserved in the many hundreds of historical sites and museums that dot the country. The enormous National Museum of Bardo (near Tunis) was a 13th century palace and has been expanded over time so that it’s now a an amazing example of 17th and 18th century Arab architecture and interior décor. It boasts vaulted ceilings, galleries and cupolas. It also houses the finest collection of mosaics in the world! he Carthage Museum is known for its extensive collection of Punic and Roman everyday artifacts. However, it would be a shame to miss its large jewelry collection and its very unusual collection of Punic masks that were fabricated of a paste made of colored glass.

The Dar Ben Abdallah Museum of Traditional Arts and Customs, in Tunis, is housed on the bottom floor of the 18th century palace of the same name. It is the center of the old city of Tunis, the medina. This museum offers traditional Tunisian arts and exhibits traditional customs of the city of Tunis in a traditional setting. Keep in mind that most museums in Tunisia are closed on Mondays. Tunisia is a land of festivals. Every city and village, no matter how large or small, hosts festivals to which visitors are welcome. The Saharian Festival celebrates the vast expanses of the Sahara. It is in Douz and occurs during the second week of November. If you are a devotee of world class music, don’t miss the International Music Festival at the El Jem Coliseum from mid-July to mid-August. What could be lovelier than listening to world famous orchestras and artists on a warm Tunisian evening under the stars in a Roman coliseum?

The most important component of Tunisian family cuisine is its breads! Country breads, found in smaller villages, are usually unleavened and baked in domed, clay ovens called tabounas. Bread is a staple at every Tunisian meal and everyplace in Tunisia has its own special breads. Lamb is the Tunisian’s meat of choice. Due to its long coastline, there is also a plethora of seafood and olive oil, salads and all sorts of herbs and spices including cumin, coriander, garlic, parsley, and dried peppers enhance the flavor of Tunisian food. Tunisians love hot and spicy food but often serve their signature spicy condiment, Harissa, as a side dish for tourists who aren’t up to the hot food. Don’t pass up dessert. Turkish Baklava, a confection made of layers of crispy pastry, ground nuts and cinnamon and soaked in honey syrup is too good to miss.

Visit Tunisia for its arts, culture, history, food and for a fabulous holiday!

Now Try – Tunisia Holidays

Turkey is a wonderful place for a holiday! It is a Eurasian country, straddling both Asia and Europe. It is a country that easily blends antiquity with modernity. Natural sites battle with the thrill of modern cities for the tourist’s attention. As one of the cradles of world civilization, Turkey is filled with ancient history and archaeological sites. It also offers a great nightlife and world-class restaurants as well as outdoor fun including yachting, paragliding, diving and ballooning. The coastline of Turkey is 6,500 km long. Turkey is bordered by sea on three sides!

At the crossroads of Europe and Asia, Turkey is a country of many cultural influences. Thirteen different civilizations have settled Turkey since ancient times. Turkey is an interesting mix of all of these cultures and the contrasts between modern civilization and the civilizations of antiquity. Turkey is the place to enjoy a unique blend of Eastern and Western culture.

Although Turkey is beautiful all year, the best months to visit are April through October. If tourists on holiday can pull themselves away from the beautiful beaches they will find that the cuisine of this country is truly sumptuous. A meze style meal of tiny plates, served with some of Turkey’s distinctive red and white wines, must be followed by some of this country’s irresistible sweets. The food of Turkey is so diverse that one almost has to come to the country to try the culinary delights that it offers.

Turkey is also one of the birthplaces of the Christian religion. While tourists enjoy seeing the mosques of Turkey, they can also walk in the footsteps of one of the Catholic Church’s most famous saints, St. Paul. He was born in the Turkish city of Tarsus and preached throughout Turkey. Each one of Turkey’s many regions offers museums and historical sites for visitors on holiday. In the area of the Aegean you can visit the Archaeological Museum near Konak Square. Its statues of Poseidon and Demeter once stood in the Agora. In Gaziantep, in southeastern Turkey, you might spend an afternoon at the Archaeology Museum that is home to artifacts from Neolithic, Hittite and Roman times.

Visit Turkey to enjoy the sights and sounds and tastes of this ancient country straddling two continents and thousands of years of cultural heritage!

Now Try – Turkey Holidays

When you go on holiday you want to have a good time, right? You want the food to be delicious, the weather to be fabulous, and your accommodation to be clean and comfortable. You won’t have control over the weather, unless you make silly choices as to destination. For example, if you’re looking for sunny beaches, don’t choose Scandinavia in the winter. You certainly can have some control over the other two.

There are pros and cons to both all inclusive and self catering holidays. What you choose will depend on your lifestyle and preferences. Both can save you money. On self catering holidays you are responsible for cooking and for cleaning. This means that your rooms may cost less as you’re not paying for maid service. It also means that when you come in from a long day of holiday fun, that your beds won’t be made and you may still have to cook dinner, unless you’re going out.

All inclusive holidays sound very attractive. Who doesn’t like free drinks, food on the table and maid service? In general, it does all sound good. However, many travelers who have stayed at all inclusive resorts report that sometimes the food is awful and sometimes it’s cold. Some say that meal hours are limited so that if you’re off swimming during the one hour that the midday meal is served, that you will either have to go pay for a meal elsewhere or be hungry until tea.

There are many luxury self catering accommodation all over the world. Most of those seem to come in the form of cottages and villas (even the word “villa” sounds luxurious, doesn’t it?) There are also many self catering establishments all over the world. To book either one, the best idea is to get online and find a few in the area that you’d like to go on holiday. Then read online reviews. People who write online reviews have nothing to gain by giving accommodation either good or bad reviews so, for the most part, you can trust them.

The best idea is to question your friends when they return from their holidays. You probably have friends who have been on both self catering and all inclusive holidays. They will be able to share their general impressions about both types with you. They may also have some ideas as to specific places that they loved.

Now Try – Self Catering Holidays

A golfing vacation can often require more planning than a normal vacation and one of the first things you need to consider is who to go with, if anyone. Because it is a specialist holiday, it is often best to go with fellow golf enthusiasts. Going alone can sometimes work out well also and there is a lot less planning to do. The more people you go with, the more complicated things can get, so it can be far less frustrating and sometimes better value to have everything handled by a travel agency.

You will also want to think carefully about your budget. If you are going on a golf resort vacation, the convenience factor is definitely higher, but it will often be a lot more expensive than staying in accommodation off the golf resort. Though golf resorts are rarely cheap, you may be able to take advantage of a special offer if you do your research carefully. Some packages include more than others and this is also something that your travel agency can help you with.

To make sure that you have the perfect golf holiday all planned out, you will also want to consider your own degree of enthusiasm for golf. For great enthusiasts, only the best golf courses will do and prices will also be considerably higher. In these cases, it is best to stick only with those who share your enthusiasm rather than having people who don’t just tagging along. If you are more of an amateur, you may want to choose a golf holiday in a location where there are plenty of other activities available as well.

You should shortlist all of the golf resorts that provide you with the quality, facilities and budget that you are looking for. Once you have done that, it is time to contact them to find out about tee times, booking, transport and various other aspects. It is important to learn exactly what is included in the package and what isn’t, otherwise you can easily end up going over budget. It is also essential to get any equipment you need far in advance so to avoid any risk of missing out.

If you are traveling with others who do not quite share your enthusiasm for golf, then you will need to take them into consideration as well. Aspects such as location are very important. Many golf courses around the world are located near various tourist sites and there are often plenty of cultural and entertainment venues nearby. If you are going with family or anyone who is not into golf so much, you should take care to find the best compromise so that you can enjoy your holiday without having to worry about others.

Now Try – Golf Villas

So many wonderful places to ski and so little time (and money). Most of the world class ski areas show up on every list but there are just so many to choose from. And the best places to ski promise an exciting nightlife and lots of other things to do when you’re not on the slopes.

Courchevel, France – proclaims itself to be the world’s largest ski resort but is also often called the world’s BEST ski resort. The highest of the villages, Courchevel 1850, boasts four gourmet restaurants and many boutiques as well as a ski-jumping area, an Olympic Ice-skating rink, ice climbing and night tobogganing.

Chamonix Mont-Blanc, France – is one of the contenders for “World’s Best Ski Resort.” It’s the highest peak in the alps and second highest in Europe (4.8 km) and offers a vertical drop of 2.8 km. Host to the first Winter Olympic games in 1924, Chamonix is home to the 22 km Vallee Blanche run, one of Europe’s longest ski trails. It boasts backcountry skiing, hang gliding and ice climbing on glaciers.

Cortina, Italy – is located in the eastern Dolomites and is one of Italy’s most popular and extreme resorts and hosted the 1956 Olympics. It offers 52 lifts and 132 km of groomed runs in the central village. Passes are also available to give access to 50 other resorts in the area. Cortina is one of Europe’s most extreme and popular resorts. Visit Cortina Adrenaline to take part in bobsledding, snow rafting, sledding, and tobogganing.

Whistler, Blackcomb, British Columbia – has been voted, by North Americans, “The Best North American Ski Resort” many times. It is most certainly one of the largest and finest ski resorts in North America. It has the largest vertical drop (1.6) in North America. There are expert terrains, helicopter skiing, glaciers and wide alpine bowls. In the evening, or on a day off from skiing, visit one of Whistlers cafes, shops or 100 restaurants.

Mont-Tremblant, Quebec – is located in the Laurentian Mountains. It has a European style village with cobblestoned streets, lots of pubs, creperies and shopping. It offers hundreds of ski trails, off-piste skiing and terrain parks. Where Canada’s joi de vivre meets luxury, it’s also an hour’s drive to Montreal.

Aspen, Colorado – full of Victorian charm, and known for its razzle dazzle, Aspen offers some of the finest skiing in North America and a chance to ski with the “rich and famous.” Aspen offers excellent terrain for all levels of skiers. Aspen can be a bit expensive but the night life is amazing.

Spain has become the must-see destination for over 50 million visitors every year, who come to this sun-blessed country to enjoy the amazing culture and ancient heritage as well as the great weather. Whether your tastes are more in tune with the fine art of Picasso or the flavors of a good Paella, Spain has something for everyone. Spain has opened several new airports in recent years, making it much easier to reach parts of the country that were once visited only by the hardiest of travelers. While this may make it more convenient to reach all the great sites, it has also made it more difficult to decide where to go.

Barcelona is a great place to start your travels. This beautiful city, founded in Roman times, rests on the Mediterranean Sea. For architecture enthusiasts, there are a variety of impressive sights, including Gaudi’s Sagrada Familia and the Gothic Cathedral of Santa Eulalia. Whether you are looking for exciting festivities or a relaxing day at the beach, Barcelona has it. For anyone with a long weekend to spare, Barcelona offers a variety of attractions, restaurants, and shopping.

Just a short distance from Barcelona sits the city of Alicante – a beach lover’s dream. The aged narrow streets are perfect for a curious stroll after a day out on one of the beautiful beaches. It is no wonder this city is one of the most preferred destination spots in the country. If you are looking for a more relaxing experience, the old pirates’ hangout of Tabarca is a short boat trip away. By train, vacationers can see one of the largest palm groves on Earth – the Palmeral of Elche, which also happens to be a World Heritage Site.

To the south, you can find Murcia. This is the best place to visit if you want a little bit of everything. Murcia boasts mountain regions, a fantastic cityscape, a fabulous Costa Blancan coastline and a wonderful night life. Murcia also has a great surrounding area which can be visited. This includes Mar Menor which boasts an awesome lagoon and some of the absolute finest sunsets that can be seen in the entire world.

If you are looking for a sunny spot, the coastal city of Almeria is one of your best bests. With an average of 330 days of sunshine each year, it is known as one of the warmest, driest areas in Europe. Here you will find the Tabernas desert, which is sure to please the movie buff; it has been the scene of many Hollywood westerns. Others will find delight at Alcazaba, the Moorish castle, which is loaded with history of the region. The Cabo de Gata-Nijar Natural Park is home to Spain’s premier diving areas, on top of hosting its truly brilliant geological features.

Malaga is one of the most popular cities with tourists, thanks to its location near the Costa del Sol. There are several ways to reach this busy town, and plenty to keep you occupied. Take a stroll through the Picasso museum, jump from an airplane with your fellow skydivers, or soak up the sights and sounds of a real Spanish bull-fight. That Malaga is as popular with Spaniards as it is with foreign tourists is testament to the fact that it is an un-missable destination.

Now Try – Holidays To Spain

Children and adults alike often come away from their first visit to the magic of Disney World in Orlando Florida having found that they simply did not have enough time to spend on all the things they wanted. So here are some tips to think about ahead of time that may help you to make the most of your time there:

* Use the Internet and any publications you can find to identify in advance the parks and rides that look most appealing to you.

* An early start will mean that you can beat the crowds to the most popular rides.

* Travel time to the parks can be lengthy if you’re not staying in Disney world accommodation so allow a lot of time to get there.

* Even though you know that each minute at Disney World is precious, allowing some time in the middle of the day for a rest will help you to last longer overall. If you’re booked into a Disney hotel and can go back there for a brief respite, take advantage of this.

* If you’re visiting during the summer months, bring along some light protective clothes to keep you dry during the afternoon showers. There are storage lockers for hire at the parks for use during the sunny parts of the day, and park stores to buy rain protection supplies if you’ve forgotten them.

* Familiarize yourself with the Fastpass system and which rides it is used on. These are the busiest rides with the longest lines and at each one there is a Fastpass machine. The machine will issue a ticket on demand showing a pre-determined one-hour time period for later in the day. You will find the Fastpass lines to be much shorter when you return during your appointed time later in the day.

* Planning is fine and is certainly recommended but be prepared to make some unanticipated diversions so that you experience everything possible.

* Recognize that children have limits – despite their outward enthusiasm! When they tire, take a rest. If their feet ache, get them a stroller (even if they outgrew one years ago). If a ride frightens them, don’t insist they go on it. This will make your day a lot less stressful.

* If your family or group is likely to want to split up inside the parks, keep in contact using cell phones or even pagers or two-way radios.

* Exploring a theme park requires lot of walking so wear your comfortable walking shoes. Bring two pairs with you from home if you have them so that you can alternate. Avoid the frustration of a vacation ruined by blisters.

* If breakfast at Cinderellas Royal Table in the Magic Kingdom is a “must do” for your child, try calling exactly 90 days prior to the day you want to be there at 7 AM Orlando time for priority seating. Other than during an extremely slow season, you may find later bookings impossible to arrange for this extremely popular character.

Above all else, remember that the objective of a vacation is relaxation, even a Disney World Orlando vacation. Pace yourself and recognize that you will almost certainly not be able to see it all in just one visit. But that will give you a reason to schedule a return!
