Isle of Wight is famous for family holiday and also it’s music festival that goes on few times over the summer and many people are looking to go those festival one of which starts this weekend for few days. You have to catch a ferry from Portsmouth to get to Isle Of Wight and no sorry they don’t do no luxury cruises that you will be able to take to Isle Of Wight.

So how do I travel to Isle Of Wight with my family? To get to Isle of Wight you have to catch a ferry from Portsmouth now you have to figure out a way to get to Portsmouth. There are different ways you can take to get to Portsmouth one is to catch a coach from Victoria or catch a train from Victoria or you can always drive. My personal recommendation from my experience in Isle Of Wight I will say take your car to Portsmouth and then take a car ferry to Wight.

The easiest way is really driving to Portsmouth because you will be able to take your car inside the ferry and then drive in Isle of Wight, which you will need trust me. From London you can take the M25 then take M3 exit towards Southampton then merge into M27 after 52 miles in M3. When you get to M27 you are about 20 to 30 mins away from Portsmouth depending on the traffic. A3 will take you straight to Portsmouth where you will signs to Car Ferry. Take that route which will then bring you in a cue of cars where you will be seen by people working in Wight link to park your car and wait for the ferry of your time. You will be put in a cue for the ferry of your time then when the time comes you will be asked to drive inside the ferry and from then its a 40 minutes journey to Isle of Wight. You didn’t have to take silversea cruises or royal caribbean cruises to get there. In total from London to Isle of Wight it will normally take around two and a half hours.

Once the province of the rich, cruises have changed and Caribbean cruises are fast becoming the most popular of destinations. You can have everything you want with a different Caribbean island every day and all the wonderful evening entertainment of a resort on board the cruise liner. While short breaks are available, perhaps over a weekend period, the vast majority of passengers sail for seven days and sometimes in excess of fourteen but depends on how much you are willing to spend.

Sailing is an excellent way to enjoy yourself and this includes a person who just wants to send all day on board enjoying the entertainment to someone who can’t wait to explore all the new sights. Don’t think for one moment that there will not be enough to occupy you as cruise liners are the equivalent of floating vacation resorts that have a different view every day.

Research is the key here if you want something that matches your interests so pay a visit to your local tour agents and find out more about what’s available. Each Caribbean cruise will visit a certain number of islands on that particular voyage so you must decide if you want to visit certain islands like Jamaica, Bermuda, Bahamas or Antigua for example.

For those individuals and couples that enjoy parties and event filled vacations then choose a cruise vacation that perhaps is designed more for adults than families. Don’t forget that more and more information is put online these days and while the travel agent will be helpful, there is every chance you can take a virtual tour of the Caribbean cruise ships if you visit the website directly.

One important thing to remember is the type of clothes you pack for your trip as you will have the opportunity to wear all you normal holiday clothes plus those for dressing up in the evening. These are ideal opportunities to dress up which many of us do not get the chance to do these days so the ladies will want at least two evening gowns and the men will require a tuxedo.

There are also plenty of activities if you take your children along on a cruise vacation and they will probably burn off all their energy by the time the evening has ended. You can even take time off for a little quality adult time as there are fully trained staff to look after them.

But Caribbean cruises can be for adults to and there are those that do not have children on board. Other cruise liner packages are available and have been created for special occasions like weddings, honeymoons and anniversaries.

If you let the staff on your Caribbean cruise do their job, all you will have to do is enjoy the vacation, after all isn’t that what it’s all about.

It is never a good idea to put off travel preparations until the week before your trip, instead, you should start as soon as you book your trip and the type you’ve booked is vital to preparation. A large number of cruise ships sail international waters and in addition, there are many that stop at international ports. Before you can board, you may need to present identification and on international cruises this identification often includes a passport, as well as a driver’s license.

A huge problem, when it comes to getting a passport that some people will wait till the last minute and although last minute passports can be obtained in the event of an emergency, most require at least a week or more to process. You aren’t immediately supplied with a passport but must instead apply for one and while almost all individuals that fill out the application are granted one, planning ahead is the best option. So then. if an error is made on the information you supplied, you will have enough time then you can repair any mistakes before it’s time to set sail.

Your passport and your driver’s license are not all that you should take onboard. If you are covered under a health insurance plan, you should take your insurance cards. So if you become ill on your vacation your cards will help you get the necessary treatment.

In addition to insurance cards it’s recommended that you take your meds along, actually, you should think about taking extra medication with you. Many physicians will write extra prescriptions for their patients that are traveling on a cruise ship so if your medication is lost or taken the extra meds can last you until your ship returns home. While requesting extra medication from your doctor you may want to question them about the safety precautions you should take on a ship.

To pay for onboard and port activities, you’ll need to take extra money. Taking a vacation on a cruise ship is exactly like taking a vacation anywhere else so you’re advised to avoid carrying a lot of cash. If you must take cash along, you are advised to split your money and place it in different locations although almost all cruise ships and popular ports accept credit cards, cashiers checks, money orders, or traveler’s checks which are acceptable alternatives to carrying cash.

When traveling aboard a cruise ship, you should give a copy of the itinerary for friends and family members which will make it possible for you to contact you in the event of an emergency. When booking a cruise you may also be required to give the contact information for someone who can be reached in an emergency. Your first instinct may be to give the contact information for your spouse children, or a close friend however, if you do that, you should ensure that they’re on dry land and easily accessible.

Once you have made these preparations you can then focus on other preparations, like packing your luggage but remember when you pack you are urged to keep the climate of the cruise in mind. Additionally you should be prepared for surprise weather and make good preparations to be certain it will be be a fantastic vacation.
