800km Of Cycling Trails – Discover The Loire A Velo Project

Cycling Loire A Velo is a great way to explore the Loire Valley. The Loire a Velo is a bike riding wonder, more than 800km of cycling trails. The roads include more than 800 km of cycling paths through the Loire Valley, calm roads with less than 500 cars a day passing. Cycle on this trail as it ventures to varied areas. Cycle the paths from town to town and view all the main points of interest.

There are numerous places to start from and to end up. You can start and end wherever you like alongside the road. You could go for a weekend trip, and choose your favorite places. Or you can go for a longer trip and follow the route the entire way from Cuffy in east to Saint Brevin at the Atlantic coast in west.

You will find a quiet, lovely scenery alongside the river Loire. Sit for a bite to eat or investigate something of interest. Follow the Loire a Velo from Orleans, the home of Joan of Arc, all the way to Blois and you will be able to visit many of the major points of interest in the Loire Valley along the way.

A stop at Chateau de Chambord is an absolute must, the most amazing chateau of them all. As you take a break in Amboise you will discover that Leonardo Da Vinci is buried in the Chateau’s chapel.

A biking holiday in Loire will open a historic world of old castles, mansions and gardens built in the 15th and 16th century. The path going around Anger is about 50km long, this is all biking trail no worry about traffic. There are so much to see and explore in this region, you will be surprised by the landscape and all the grand castles.

Traveling by bicycle, instead of a car, will make you able to see so much more along the way. You can rent a bike for a day or a week, or you can buy a package trip from one of the many companies that offers guided or selfguided trips. The biking tracks around the Loire Valley is easy to follow and not very physical challenging. If you feel you are not the most active person in the world there are many places to stop, eat and relax so do not allow that to deter you from taking this wonderful cycling excursion.
