1. Pre-Pack multiple days prior to departure. those bags over flowing just before you hit the road is a sure formula for leaving needed items for your leave. Create a preparation well before before you go, then pack those bags early. This way you will be able to think about what you’ve packed and the few days in between packing and leaving will provide time to add or subtract items from your luggage.

2. Expect holdups – Sleet, Mechanical glitches, Too many people booked, late connections, all of it a gloom so have a idea of what will happen. If you’re driving through a region that often gets hit with tough travel conditions, keep an eye on the weather reports starting a week before your trip. If you see a hint that there might be trouble, make a list of motels, hotels and inns in the area and carry it with you for an emergency. Nothing is more frustrating than spending days in an airport waiting for the problems to get resolved.

3. When flying, checking in online is key and it’s also very important to get to the airport early. Don’t miss your flight by getting to the airport 2-3 hours early. Holidays means LONG LINES so get to the airport early.

4. Stay away from popular travel times – No matter how you slice it, if you schedule your travel days staying clear of peak days and peak times, you will have a much better traveling experience.

5. Don’t bring too much. When packing ZEM’s, they are much lighter and smaller than typical shoes. ZEM’s can work well for you while you travel, and at your destination. A few pair of shoes in your bag can dissipate more space than neccesary. You won’t notice a few pairs a ZEMS, and they can even go in your carry on bags easily.
